Why You’ll Love Us
The Embroidery
Every hem carries a Merrow stitch — a close-set embroidered edge that binds the fabric and signals that the set was finished by hand. In White/White, the stitch is tone-on-tone; in White/Navy, it draws a fine dark line along the hem. Small detail, considered reason.
Why Single-ply Matters
We use 60–80 yarn count, single-ply cotton for our percale. Single-ply means each thread is a single continuous strand rather than several twisted together, making the weave cleaner and more breathable. It's also why the sheets get softer with use, rather than wearing thin.
Certified From Seed to Stitch
GOTS certification covers the full supply chain — from organic cotton farming and low-impact dyes to fair labor practices and sewing. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 then tests the finished sheets for harmful substances. Two independent standards, one toxin-free set of sheets.

Reviews
Questions, We’ve Answers.
What are percale sheets?
Percale is a one-over-one-under plain weave — the simplest way to weave cotton. The result is crisp, cool, and matte, with a structured hand feel like a freshly pressed cotton shirt. It's the most breathable weave for cotton sheets, which makes it a natural fit for hot sleepers.
How are your percale sheets? Are they soft?
They start crisp, not silky — that structured hand feel is the point of percale. With every wash, the single-ply organic cotton softens, and the weave relaxes, so the sheets feel noticeably more broken-in after the first few cycles. Skip the fabric softener; the sheets do this on their own.
How are your percale sheets made?
Our percale is woven in Portugal from GOTS-certified organic cotton using a one-over-one-under plain weave and 60–80 single-ply yarn. Every set is cut, sewn, and hand-finished with a Merrow-stitch hem at a family-run mill, then tested against OEKO-TEX Standard 100 before it ships.
Are your sheets non-toxic?
Yes. The cotton is GOTS-certified, so it's grown without synthetic pesticides and dyed with low-impact, GOTS-approved dyes. The finished sheets are then tested against OEKO-TEX Standard 100 for harmful substances. No toxic dyes, no synthetic finishes — just organic cotton.
What's the difference between percale and sateen?
Percale uses a one-over-one-under weave — crisp, cool, and matte, like a pressed cotton shirt. Sateen uses a four-over-one weave — smooth, luminous, and slightly warmer to the touch. Both get softer with every wash; the choice is about the hand feel you prefer.
Why are your sheets made in Portugal?
Portugal has a centuries-old tradition of fine textile weaving and a concentration of family-run mills that still operate on a small scale. Our mill produces some of the most precisely crafted organic cotton available, which is why our percale feels noticeably different from sheets made at an industrial scale.
