Why You’ll Love Us
The Hemstitching
We use hemstitching on every flat sheet and pillowcase on our Heritage collections because it adds structure without extra material — clean, durable, unmistakably handfinshed. It's one of the oldest finishing techniques in European linen-making, and it's still the right one.
Why Single-Ply Matters
Thread count alone doesn't tell you much. What matters is the yarn: our sheets use single-ply organic cotton with a 60–80 yarn count, which means each thread is a single strong, untwisted fiber rather than multiple thinner strands twisted together. The result is a lighter, more breathable sheet that softens with use rather than wearing thin.
Certified from Seed to Stitch
Our GOTS certification covers every stage: the cotton is grown organically, processed without toxic dyes or finishes, and sewn under independently audited fair labor conditions. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 then tests the finished product for over 100 harmful substances.

Reviews
Questions, We’ve Answers.
What are Sateen sheets?
Sateen sheets are woven in a four-over, one-under pattern that exposes more thread on the surface. This creates a smooth feel and a subtle sheen. The denser weave also makes sateen slightly warmer than percale, which is why it's a popular year-round choice.
How are your sateen sheets? Are they soft?
They're smooth from the first night and get softer with every wash. We use single-ply organic cotton at a 60–80 yarn count, which produces a sheet that relaxes over time rather than pilling or thinning.
How are your sateen sheets made?
Each set is crafted from GOTS-certified organic cotton in our partner mill in Portugal. The sateen weave uses a four-over, one-under pattern with single-ply yarn. Sheets are then hemstitched, inspected, and finished by hand.
Are your sheets non-toxic?
Yes. Our sheets are GOTS-certified and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tested, which means they're free from harmful dyes, formaldehyde, and over 100 other substances. The organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides. They're safe for sensitive skin and hypoallergenic.
Why are your sheets made in Portugal?
Portugal has been weaving fine textiles for centuries. Our mill produces some of the most precisely crafted organic cotton sheets available — it's why the hand-feel of our sheets is noticeably different from sheets made at scale. Craftsmanship you can feel, from a region built on it.
